Treatment:
Solution-oriented psychotherapy for children, adolescents, adults and seniors in a safe, compassionate environment. Services are provided individually, for couples, families and in group format to best meet the needs of the client.
Clinical specialties include anxiety and depression, substance abuse, dual diagnosis (co-occurring mental health and substance abuse), women’s issues, play therapy, attention deficit disorder, memory problems in older adults, chronic mental illness and chronic pains.
Education:
Gale Ann’s philosophy is “the more I can help my clients learn about their situation, their symptoms and their problems, the easier it is for them to cope.” She maintains a self-help library of books as well as video and audio tapes for her clients’ use outside the therapy hour to gain further insight. She also offers practical workshops for her clients and the public to raise awareness of important emotional issues, and offers step-by-step solutions to help people stay mentally healthy.
Advocacy:
Many clients with emotional or substance abuse problems need extra consideration and assistance from community-based organizations such as the school system, the legal system, social services or the Social Security Administration. Gale Ann offers her clients help in navigating these systems and gaining the resources they need from them.
Case Management:
By coordinating care, when appropriate, with other treatment providers whom her clients access (i.e. doctors, hospitals, etc.), Gale Ann is able to insure that her clients receive the best continuity of care – a key factor in improving treatment results.
